Anne M Carson is an Australian poet, essayist and visual artist whose poetry has been published internationally and widely in Australia, receiving numerous awards, including longlisting for the Fish International Poetry Prize in 2023 and shortlisting in the Society of Women Authors New South Wales in 2024. The Detective’s Chair: prose poems about fictional detectives, her fourth full-length collection, was published by Liquid Amber Press in 2023. Her PhD at RMIT in 2023 was supported by an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship and was awarded an Outstanding Dissertation Prize from the Visual and Performing Arts SIG of the American Educational Researchers Association in 2024. The essay published in SWN forms a chapter in a longer work, which converts the methodology chapter in her PhD dissertation to a series of connected essays.
