Gareth Jenkins

Gareth is a poet, sound artist and publisher. His first book Recipes for the Disaster won the Anne Elder award. His second book The Inclination Compass, a multi-media poetic narrative, was published by Puncher and Wattmann in 2023. 

Gareth creates sound works that combine improvised performance, poetic voice work and field recordings. He makes immersive multimedia installations with collaborator Kathryn Cowen. Most recently these works have combined animation, sound, sculpture, electronics and ultraviolet light to create bio-futuristic environments that reflect nature’s ever-changing desire for adaptation and experimentation.

Gareth is the managing editor of Apothecary Archive press. He works in community engagement and teaches creative writing at Macquarie University.
