Magdalena Ball

Born and raised in New York City, Magdalena Ball works as a novelist, poet, reviewer and sustainability manager. Now living in NSW She is also the vice president of the Flying Island Poetry community and the founder and managing editor of Compulsive Reader. Magdalena is also a regular moderator for various Australian writers festivals such as the Newcastle Writers Festival and the Maitland Indie Writers Festival and runs the Compulsive Reader Talks podcast where she has interviewed authors like Ben Okri, Matthew Riley and Marion Halligan.

Her work has been published in a range of journals and anthologies and has won both local and international awards in poetry and fiction. She has published the novels, Black Cow and Sleep Before Evening and the poetry books The Density of Compact Bone, Unreliable Narratives, High Wire Step, Unmaking Atoms, Repulsion Thrust, and Quark Soup.
