Anne M Carson is an Australian poet, essayist and visual artist whose poetry has been published internationally, and widely in Australia, receiving numerous awards including longlisting for Fish International Poetry Prize (2023), and shortlisting in the Society of Women Authors New South Wales (2024). The Detective’s Chair: prose poems about fictional detectives, her fourth full length collection, was published Liquid Amber Press (2023). Her PhD, (RMIT, 2023), supported by an Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship, was awarded an Outstanding Dissertation Prize from the Visual and Performing Arts SIG of the American Educational Researchers Association in 2024. The essay published in SWN forms a chapter in a longer work which converts the methodology chapter in her PhD dissertation to a series of connected essays.
