Emily Tsokos Purtill is a Western Australian writer and former lawyer of Greek heritage, based in Perth/Boorloo. She has also lived in the UK, Vancouver, Paris and New York. 

Her creative non-fiction, flash fiction, short fiction and poetry has been awarded and published in Australia and the United States, including in Westerly and Griffith Review. In 2023 Emily was longlisted for the Griffith Review Emerging Voices Competition.

Emily’s debut literary fiction novel MATIA, following four generations of Greek-Australian women, is forthcoming from UWA Publishing in October 2024. Emily currently writes and curates the literary subscription Kaló Taxídi, a journey for readers all over the worldat etpliterary.com.
