you expect this particle-scape
to be seismic | smashing protons

in octave-rich pools of sound
high energies | barrelling at speed

collapsing waves of distorted
exchanges | noise-proclamations

but as the Large Hadron Collider
turned on | I kneeled down above

eavesdropping on silent vessels
of possibilities | puncturing

any hush with my shoe scraping
on asphalt | above fierce beams

this accelerator is imperceptible
but not voiceless | impatient

stories waiting to be unsnarled
braids of the universe | decay

as data scatters, spools, transforms
I call home | too awed to speak
