Galileo's Daughter
David Salner
After her labors, she sits in the garden, eating preserves made from the oranges her father gave her, wondering if everything she’s thought and loved dissolves into a history that is dissolving. Beyond this dark there is the sun her father proved, the avoidless sun. But in this garden, it is the taste of orange preserves around which everything turns.
